About Me
Keeping your teeth young

As we get older suddenly we realised many things we didn't appreciate about being young - being fit, having smooth skin and having all your own teeth. As our loose teeth (and bridges) struggle to deal with chewier food we start eating bland mush and, there is no easy way to say this, OLD PEOPLE FOOD. I'm determined not to let that happen to me and I'm doing everything I can to keep my own teeth as long as possible, and when that's not possible to get the best possible teeth replacement. If you are like me and want to keep on eating whatever you want, I think you'll like my site. It's all about dental health and teeth replacement & maintenance.

Will Invisalign Braces Make You Look More Professional at Work?

Mabel Hicks

While it's becoming a lot more common for adults to wear braces to straighten out their teeth, you may be worried that wearing braces at work may make you stand out in the wrong way. For example, metal braces are noticeable and hard to hide. So, if you need cosmetic bracing work as an adult and are worried that metal braces may not make the right professional impression, then Invisalign aligners may give you a way of fixing your teeth more subtly. What are the advantages of wearing Invisalign braces to work?

Less-Visible Braces

Invisalign braces blend in with your teeth a lot more effectively than metal braces. The trays you wear during an Invisalign treatment are made of clear plastic that are much less noticeable to other people. While you can't hide the fact that you're wearing metal braces, you may find that many people don't even notice you're wearing Invisalign aligners. This may make you feel more comfortable and confident at work during your bracing treatment.

Reduced Misconceptions

While most people don't judge you for wearing braces, metal braces may subconsciously affect their perception of you and your ability to do your job. For example, if you already look young for your age and start wearing metal braces, then this may make you appear even younger in the eyes of your bosses, co-workers and clients. Some may even take you less seriously on the basis that they subconsciously think that you look like a teenager rather than an adult. This won't be a problem if you use Invisalign aligners.

Easier Client Interactions

If you have a client-facing job and spend a lot of time wining and dining clients or socialising with them, then you may have to eat out regularly. Metal braces can make this less of a comfortable experience. You'll need to watch what you eat to avoid damaging your braces—hard, crunchy and chewy foods are generally no-go areas. Plus, you won't make a great impression if something you eat gets stuck in your brace wires and you don't realise it's there until you get home after a client dinner. If you opt for Invisalign treatment, then you don't have to worry about what you eat and where bits of your food go—you take your Invisalign trays out before you eat.
