About Me
Keeping your teeth young

As we get older suddenly we realised many things we didn't appreciate about being young - being fit, having smooth skin and having all your own teeth. As our loose teeth (and bridges) struggle to deal with chewier food we start eating bland mush and, there is no easy way to say this, OLD PEOPLE FOOD. I'm determined not to let that happen to me and I'm doing everything I can to keep my own teeth as long as possible, and when that's not possible to get the best possible teeth replacement. If you are like me and want to keep on eating whatever you want, I think you'll like my site. It's all about dental health and teeth replacement & maintenance.

Children's Dentistry: 3 Reasons You Should Always Bring Your Child to the Dentist

Mabel Hicks

Most paediatric dentists usually recommend that you take your child to visit them as early as the age of one. This is because the best time to make sure that your child's tooth becomes strong and healthy is when they are in their early development stages. Sadly, a lot of people focus too much on other aspects of their children's early development, and they forget the importance of them having amazing teeth.

Here are three reasons why you should think about taking your child to the dentist for children's dentistry services as soon as their milk teeth start showing.

They Avoid Developing a Phobia for the Dentist

One of the main reasons people shy away from the dentist in their adulthood is that they are too scared to sit in the dentist's chair. The phobia comes from the fact that a lot of people see the dentist when they have a serious tooth problem. If a child is taught to sit in the dentist's chair from an early age, it will be very hard for them to develop dental phobias.

This makes it easy for your child to make regular visits to the dentist and resolve any tooth issues before they become complicated.

 They Learn Dental Hygiene Early

The most delicate time in the development of children's teeth is when they switch from breastfeeding to the bottle. It is around this time when you introduce hard foods to them. Sugar, salt, and other foods that attract plaque can cause a lot of damage to teeth if they are not checked in time.

This is, therefore, the perfect time to introduce dental care to the child, to protect their teeth. It is during these dental visits that the child will learn proper oral care, and if any problems are developing, they will be rectified.

To Diagnose and Treat Orthodontia in Time

Teeth misalignment can occur when a child is spouting their first teeth. Misalignment of the jaws and other malocclusions can happen at this time. Early dental visits give you the opportunity to handle these problems as soon as they start developing because the older the child gets, the harder it will be for you to rectify them.

These are three of the many reasons to ensure that your child sees a children's dentist as early in life as possible. When you have a competent and experienced regular dentist for your child, you can easily teach them how to maintain strong and healthy teeth for a lifetime.
